I do find it strange that there has been no announcement. He's surely communicated to the club as to whether he's taking up the offer of an extra year. Carlo needs to know if he can count on him for backup next season. Should tell him he's got one more week so sign or the offer is no longer on the table. If he's already declined it then the club needs to tell the fans.

If special dispensation fc get to bring their wags to a meaningless trophy parade, Leighton's fans at the least should be allowed for our game, the same goes to any long serving players at any club imo.

Could do with him staying for one more year as this squad has enough gaps already. It all depends if he wants one last season as a regular starter or is prepared to be a back up. Given the slightly more condensed nature of next season I'm sure he would get more games next season than he did this.

It was only 9 games if we have to play 2 games a week over a longer period there is an increased chance of injury. However I'm inclined to agree that he's off. If he wants one last season as a regular then hopefully he'll find a club that can do give him that. 13 years excellent service but the game moves on.

Surely if you have the talent then you want to play and in his case it will be a final season.
