His defensive problems stemmed form the fact he didn't have the players at the back to progress to the football he wanted to play; he successfully adapted Moyes' back 4 in the first 18 months, but they lost their nerve when the boo boys got in their backs and collapsed near every game. That's player deficiency. A lack of professionalism.

He was and is a superb attacking coach, especially counter attacking.

Centre backs or strikers from Wigan were a big part of Roberto's demise.Also persisting with Howard too long .You cant get results in this league then or now and without a decent defence you cant counter attack successfully. That did for him unfortunately.

The Leicester Cup game will be nearly a year old the time the new season comes around.


High wages for a player who will hardly play is one of the reasons we lost £111m last year.

When there is an opportunity to trim the squad, we should take it.
