If he could cross and had a yard extra pace he'd be first choice for England.

After a weeks contemplation, I have decided that poor crossing is simply down to 2 factors.

Firstly the small amount of run up available in the corner areas at Goodison by the corner flags and the pretty gravel.

Secondly, the downward slope of our corner flag areas. Yes all 4.

Cheers.

He's quite super really, gets some right [Poor language removed] that he doesn't deserve from some of our beastly fans.

When he starts charging forward, like a massive gay wasp, he's great.

That gravel is ridiculous....anyway, don't think we can blame the small corner areas as away corner takers seem to do ok.

I'm glad he's getting mentioned on the forum now. Far to long he was overlooked. For awhile there, when Teta and Naar were out and Felli hadn't unleashed the beast yet, all of our attack came out of the back through him.

I started to multiquote some of the posts but I ended up agreeing with just about everyone of them so I'll just say "This."

Capello better put him in the WC squad, but being a US fan, I'd rather see him on the bench. :P

Great game today Bainsey :D

He very much outshone Ashley Cole tonight.

He has to show some consistency now but for large parts he was outstanding.
I totally disagree - I think he is very consistent, it's actually one of his biggest strengths. He just has his limitations, he will never be a top full back around, but he is and he will be good/very good, and will produce on this level every week. Like he is doing it this season for us.

I always think he is almost faultless, however would say that he hugs the touchline too much and doesn't cut inside or take up the position just outside the box when a cross comes in from the left midfielder. However after watching him with Billy today, that is exactly what he was doing and had a decent game because of it. I think it is just because he reads the game so well that when Pienaar is playing in front of him, he knows to make an outside run, whereas with Billy he knows to wait on the inside. It is very rare to get a player that not only knows their position so well, but also their "partner's" position as well as game.
