Forget about current form, he will go anyway. Bridge said he won't be part of the set-up whilst Terry is, so Baines will be back-up to Cole. I won't be surprised if Baines plays in England's next friendly in March as Cole seemed to be struggling today with a foot injury.

Hes a pivitol part of our team
not just the fact that hes our only wing back in the squad, even though distin can fill in if he has to, put on the ball hes not the best for geting forward, somethin with bainsey thrives on.
Deliveries on his day our top notch
Capable of 5 goals a season, with the odd free kick or two
Countless assists
His one-two play with peinaar always messes any defence up.
Obvious weakness is that hes not realy the best in the air, but hes a left back so his game isnt really about that.
I wouldnt accept anything under 12 mill for him
because its hard enough finding good wing backs out there, its one of the hardest positions to fill!

Given he's still young and arguably the 2nd best LB in the country, I think he's worth at least £16m - £18m in today's market. Really one of the most under-rated players in the league.

He's the best LB we've had for 20 years. I hope we keep him for many more years. If we had a right-sided version of him we'd have a top notch defence.
