Leighton Baines

I reckon we miss Baines more than perhaps we realise. No slate on Galloway who has been fantastic (even the royal bumming Man City gave him was probably good for him), but Baines is Baines.

yes. The way we are playing so far, if you had added Baines to that I am sure we would be in the top 4 now. Can't wait to get him back, but am delighted with Galloway proving himself in the meantime.

But when have we actually missed him? We always seem to still do well even when he is out.

Maybe we'd have done even better.

Probably.

But for as good as he is and the panic when hes out we always seem to still do pretty much as well as we did with him.

Stats might show me wrong as im going off memory but i dont remember us ever struggling as much as youd think when losing one of the best players in the league and one of our most productive.

Probably both true to be honest. We don't struggle for sure, but that's because we have good back ups, really good ones, but I reckon it's safe to say that Baines wouldn't have been shafter by City quite as much.

Baines is still easily our best left back. We lose so much going forward when he is out. The general panic when he gets injured has started to subside as we have decent cover now but when fit he surely has to start

I would say we would be 6-9 points better off just having had him in for the 8 games so far and have quite a few more goals scored. I think he is that important.

Obviously he was as poor as the rest last season, but in an Everton looking more solid and confident right now it's a huge pity that we are missing our proven points-winner and game-changer.

That's a big call mate, to say Baines would have won us nearly 3 games. We would probably have been better off but by 9 points?

We have Jags and Barry with the experience running cm & defense, but rely on mostly kids up front. I think Baines, even from lb, is crucial in turning our spells of pressure into goals on a more regular basis. I reckon we would have wins from at least the swansea game and the derby if he had been in.

Just my opinion though.

When's he back?

We need him. Badly.

but we have the fantastic galloway who got voted player of the month! What do we need Baines for?

edit: forgot the sarcastic font. And I'm not saying Galloway is bad, just that Baines is still a much better player.
