Destroying his legacy much faster than expected.

Half of the blame for this does rest with the club. If players don’t want to jump, then you have to push them. Successful teams don’t rest on their laurels- they constantly move forward and a huge part of that is knowing when to replace ageing players and how to faze them out.

Honestly there’s plenty of left backs we could have signed these last couple of years to ease the transition from a stalwart like Baines- one of them was playing for Southampton today. Don’t understand why we didn’t go in for Robertson when he left Hull and went to the RS. Good player who’d get much more game time here.

Sagna hasn’t even got a club. Should have brought him in instead of Martina.

Baines (and Jags) has been put in this position. Shouldve been on the bench at most this season. Has been a very good servant and doesn't actually deserve this as part of his legacy. But, time waits for no one. More evidence of mismanagement in the summer window.
