Osman has been off the pace for years. (He was only ever 'on it' in flashes but that's hardly the point.

...I think the comparison is a bit unfair. Cahill's game was lots about combat and effort, he never took a step back. An unbelievable pro, that approach was always going to take its toll on a frame smaller than most opponents. Osman on the other hand has never been combative or pacey. Osman is a clever footballer and that remains the case. I'm not suggesting Osman starts but we need a squad and for the time being he still has something to offer.
