I hope you guys have a well thought out scapegoat succession plan ready for when this inevitably happens!

They are gearing up for Lukaku, McGeady and Distin/Naismith/Atsu and Martinez. The football is a release for the pent up anger and frustration of daily life to be taken out upon - if that manifests in obnoxious hatred for a player or players then that is what certain sections of the "Support" pay their money for.

You know what really upsets me about osman? its the fact that the best years of his career where wasted out on the wing when he could of been dancing through defences and playing sexy through balls for fun and remembered better then this.

But alas it was never ment to be he has done what he has had to do for this club. other players would of went to the papers or social media to voice there unhappiness of spending most of there careers playing out of position but this lad just did it and did it as best he could.

but The worse part is now imo watching the footballing intelligence that he has traped in the body of a man that can not compete in this leauge. He looks dead on his feet after 20 minutes, but you can see what he is trying to do.

to me this is the worse part of Osman. every time I watch him I think what a waste. He really could of been a player if only managed correctly but no bundled onto the wing and left the to rot.

I think apart from 20 minute cameos at the end of games that's him done personally. such A shame but hey Ho. at least boby won't to that to ross...hopefully.

Right.

Cause no other clubs in the world have players like Leon Osman.

It's only Everton that employ the Osmans and Hibberts of the world.

The other clubs? ALL of their players are top drawer and we're just swimming in their wake.

Sorry, but that's bit fast and loose...
Did you watch Osman circa the 2009-10/10-11 season (I forget which season it was..)? He was arguably our best player, and certainly our most consistent. Yep, he's fading now, but in the context of that slice of Everton history to which he belongs he was a solid player and, as mentioned above, a wasted talent, stuck out on the right, a la Naismith.

Not really. People have been complaining about Osman for as long as I can remember.

I'm confident I speak for just about everyone on here in saying that we'd much rather have him come off the bench like he did against United than start any matches at this juncture in his career. That's where his value is now.

But for those who think he should have been shipped out a long time ago need to wind it in.

Can't argue with that - he's more of a super-sub now than the main man. Still think he deserves credit for that one season when when he had a real Indian summer...

I agree with pretty much all of that mate except I think he can still have games when he controls the game for the 90 minutes. Admittedly he can't do it every week any more but I think games like today will suit him. At home, players playing behind him like Barry and McCarthy. Especially the work rate of McCarthy mean he can play further up the pitch, he can play tidy football with the likes of Barkley and Naismith. The natural game of Baines and Coleman mean he won't have to play out wide other then to support them and hold the ball for them to bomb into space
