The decline of Leon Osman is no long just alarming, it's reached the point where we should consider offloading him before September 2. Time to get ruthless.

I had previously posted this about Osman's preseason form.

Had an absolute shocker yesterday against Betis. I went back and watched a replay of the full game and struggled to find good moment for him. Misplaced passes, failing to keep possession, didn't track back, poor marking, missed tackles... you name it.

Barkley looks quicker, sharper and surprisingly more comfortable on the ball.

Yesterday's game confirmed we desperately need two CM's as a priority.

Now anyone who watch the game against Norwich will tell you we were all but playing with 10 men. A passenger.
Everything that he did against Betis he did again yesterday. The game just passed him by, players were running past him like he wasn't even there. Gave the ball away and looked slower than Heitinga.

I was critical of Moyes for taking to long to cull players and after watching a Osman again yesterday, Martinez's reluctance to replace him was disappointing.

From the little I've seen of Lundstram, at this stage he would be a better option as a defensive midfielder when Gibson is out.

Really isn't as bad as some people are suggesting but hey I guess some Everton fans need a boo boy and he it it, the Internet warriors are circulating

I haven't seen the whole game, but he probably didn't have an appropriate sub for him with us trying to win and all that... Just a guess here...

Agreed as a whole though.
 
loosing possession in the middle of the park and giving them a counter opportunity a few times had me screaming at the tele, not his best performance today
 

There was a period towards the end where the egg headed [Poor language removed] gave possession away in dangerous places three times in 10 minutes.

The bloke is past his sell by date. Martinez should flog him and get someone else in.
 
Ossie has been an easy target / the whipping boy for so long now it's beginning to get sad and the game against Norwich only added more fuel to the fire. 1st half he was anonymous, one would like to think he spent the half nullifying their midfield however that wouldn't be true. Despite playing with 10 men we still overran them. Second half he was more lively but his involvement was mostly to our detriment, all in all he was woeful.

It's time for him to move on and the right move may see a rejuvenation in his career but he won't get that move because there's very few decent teams who would want him as he offers very little.

I hope whoever ghost writes for him drafts and submits a transfer request on his behalf.
 
Dont see how Johnny Lundstram is the ideal replacement for Ozzie; league 1 experience for 2/3 months?

Ozzie looked leggy yesterday late on but wasnt the horror show some are making out.

He will be the target of the fans ire on here from now on. Shame.

I didn't think he had a bad game either. Kept it simple and used the ball well. Hasn't really got the lags for CM but never has had.

No need for that mate!
I would like to see Ossie fazed out of the first team (quickly) but would like him given a staff job at the club.
I think he's good to have around and I can see him coaching the kids well.

This. He ticked the midfield over, which is what he was there to do. But he did make a few errors.

He and Pienaar aren't on form at the moment. Both we can't really afford to vacate from the team because 1 young player had a good game.
