Ossie has a better first touch. Is more intelligent and generally has better/closer control of a FOOTBALL than Ross.

Sure, Ross is more dynamic, but to say he has better technique than Leon is laughable.
You're absolutely right mate, they are different sorts of players to be fair, but for close control, Osman and Pienaar are streets ahead of the rest of the squad.

My god

This is Flat Earth Society levels of inconceivable tosh

One good game this season and the mentals are suffering from Osmania again

Osman's physical atrocities cancel out his technical skills in my opinion. He's so weak the wind would knock him over, and he can barely move about the pitch. He does take care of the football better than Ross in congested areas though

Osman is a really useful sub I reckon. Even now.

I just think we need much better than him in the creative roles.

And yes I do think Barkley will be that person. Eventually.

The way Osman adapts to playing a variety of positions and picks up spaces in the opponents half and makes it look so easy shows what a terrific player he is. Barkley really struggles to do this.

Barkley does a lot of things Osman never could. I have come to the conclusion though, that under Moyes Osman was never played to his strengths. He is a poor box to box midfield player. Moyes would never have countenanced giving someone a "free role" but this is essentially what Osman requires. The license to drift around. He remains very good at this and our performances have improved with him in the team.

He's too old to be a serious first team squad member.

Last year he really suffered having to play 5 or 6 games in a row. Was dire at times.

Useful off the bench still because he does have certain skills but if we're starting him consistently we're in serious trouble.
