but everyone rightly still wants us to buy a playmaker for that role in the summer haha. i do too, but if we can get two good goalscoring wingers as well as a good second striker (i liked austin's link up play again today) then we possibly wouldn't need one.

We still need that number 10 player, nobody in our club is good enough in that role.

I'm sure it's been said, but it is so blatantly obvious that we need a player that does what Osman does. His age has caught up with him so he isn't a sustainable option, but his role is ridiculously crucial to the team. He's played very well in the last two league games and hopefully it continues until we sign a like-for-like replacement.

He's playing very well since coming back, slotted into gaps where nobody else seemed to want to.

But he's not a player that will further our club. Saying that, I'm not sure what our targets are anymore, Champions League seems a fantasy after this season.

You can tell from Martinez comments about him he has something we need and is the only player in the squad that has it. It will cost a lot of money to buy an equivalent younger stronger fitter Osman but we need one to take us on.

If Barkley played as well as everyone hyped him up to Osman wouldn't play, technially Barkley is streets ahead but he's just not consistent enough. Someone like Mata is exactly who we need, but it's never going to happen

I wouldn't want to look! Not really a fair comparison either, I haven't seen Osman throwing the ball into his own net
