WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce paid a glowing tribute to the quality of Leon Osman’s goal at Upton Park. The Blues midfielder scored an acrobatic volley to bring Everton level at Upton park after Stewart Downing’s opener.

And Allardyce raved: “It was a wonderful goal from Osman. “His take on the first touch was absolutely brilliant and his volley was outstanding. If somebody like (Diego) Costa had done that, or Robin van Persie, everybody would be crowing about it.”

Allardyce was less enthusaistic about Romelu Lukaku’s last minute winner - a remarkable SIXTH match in succession the big Belgian has scored against The Hammers. “Unbelievable. I thought we’d done it, finally at last,” Allardyce added. “He hadn’t caused us that many problems, but finally he was there to finish us off.”

Despite the loss, West Ham’s chances of qualifying for the Europa League through the fair play standings improved as Everton were shown four yellow cards to their hosts’ one. “I’d have sooner had four bookings today and won 2-1, rather than have one booking and lose 2-1, believe you me,” Allardyce added.

Age and injuries have taken their toll on ossie and piennar. Don't think either of them will be here next season.

...it's such a physically demanding league and it is amazing that he has played so many games with his build. He looks after himself on the pitch by not being a combative tackler but it's still some feat. It was the one thing I feared when watching him as a kid but he has overcome that aspect.

Ossie will still be with us, he can accept being a squad player and my bet is he'd like to hang 'em up as a Blue whenever that times comes.
