Not really. He's had his entire career to force his way into the first team, everyone watching Everton can see he doesn't have the legs to start.
Off the bench was, and is the best place for him if Barkley isn't playing well.
No point kneejerking and forgetting everything thats gone before just because he had 1 good game off the bench, thats what you want from an exerienced technically gifted player.
But playing him from the start when we have a better option makes no sense because he doesn't have the engine. If Barkley really drops off there might be a case but at this point he's obvious first choice.
