Haven't bothered to trawl through 50 pages of uninformed venom, but has anyone pointed out that Moyes and Martinez must be pretty **** managers for continually selecting such a "****" player?

Or maybe they're managers because they understand the game and the abilities of players a little more than some of you?

Sorry for having a dissenting opinion to your own mate

Please send me a list of all the things you believe in and I'll copy and paste it to word so I have a reference to draw from whenever I post on here

Wouldn't want people to have their own pesky opinions would we?

Agree with this, if you play well in a game, you should get a start in the next game.

Disagree. If he shows he's able to perform for more than half an hour at a time then he should be back in the starting XI. He should have been sub against Palace, and brought on to again try and influence the game. If he had done so again then he'd have probably earned longer in the next game, or even a start. But he's been **** for so long why should a good 30 minutes mean he's instantly back in the starting XI?

My informed take on this is that if you use the continued repeated selection of a crap footballer (Osman) as the sole criteria for judgement of both managers, then yes they are both pretty ****e managers.

Clearly this doesn't apply if they are being coerced by blackmail or by underworld connections etc to pick him.

I think we can all agree that Alex Ferguson was pretty good at this whole football mangement game. I think we can also agree that Bebe probably wasn't worth 8 million.

Sometimes people can be very good at their jobs and still not get every single decision right. There is a middle ground between 'this manager is crap' and 'every call this manager makes is correct'.

For Osman to be out of the starting XI then Barkley has to be playing every week really. I'd imagine Martinez would love to give Barkley 90 minutes every week but he doesn't want to overplay him and burn him out. He started the season brilliantly but his performances trailed off quite a bit and he had a few poor games, maybe defenders started to learn how to expose his weaknesses.

I very much doubt Osman will feature in the team that much once Martinez gets some more players in over the next two transfer windows.

The thing is people keep saying this but Martinez has played Osman in three different positions this year and started him in all but one league game.

It's possible to read that as Osman as utility man because Martinez doesn't trust our subs but I can't help worry that what it really means is Martinez will always find a space for Osman.

We'll find out in the future, but I think the insistence that it's defo the first is coming from hope rather than knowledge.

I think he's basically Martinez's first sub. He played him in CM before we got Barry and McCarthy because Gibson was injured and we only had Fellaini who could play there. Pienaar was out earlier in the season so he used Osman to cover that position, and now that Barkley's performances have dipped he's being used to replace him.

He's what, 33 now? (can't be bothered searching) he's definitely lost some pace, even though he didn't have too much to begin with, he won't be in the team for too much longer I don't think.

What's respect though?

I don't want him in the starting Xi and it bothers me that he is, if that's disrespectful then what this forum even for?

Not what I'm saying at all. I don't want him in the starting 11.

It is more the language and tone used against him. He doesnt deserve the vitriol.

Oh absolutely

Look through every post I've made about him in here

I've got no personal beef with the man at all

Longtime servant to the club

I respect him as a man and for his past achievements, but I also don't think he should be a first teamer
