Leon Osman

He was blowing out of his arse at 70 mins, can't believe he left him on as he was obviously goosed.

Didn't disgrace himself, but didn't shine either. Doesn't deserve the usual boo boys stick for last night though.

I've always defended Osman as I think he had a very underrated role in the side

He's done now though - this should be his final season. Not arsed if Martinez wants him on the coaching staff afterwards or whatever along with his mate Hibbo, but I don't want to see him starting games for us anymore

The odd game in the last 15 mins to play some sensible passes and calm things down perhaps, but that's about it.

Shocked how much stick he's taken here to be honest. He ran out of steam in the second half, which is to be expected given the amount of game time he's been getting, but other than that he was pretty effective keeping possession turned over and drawing fouls in dangerous positions.

His telepathic link up play with Baines when he came on was still a joy to behold.

just seen a stat as captain he's won 16 lost 2? pretty decent if true, also sorry if anyone else mentioned this prior - haven't trawled through the thread

The worrying thing is that if we get to the final he's going to start isn't he?

Clever footballer but he doesn't look physically up to it anymore.

The least involved of any of our players last night - and tbh it's nothing new from him.

Over the last four seasons at least, you only have to look at his positioning to where the ball's in play in & around the middle of the park. When we're in possession, unless it's right next to him (And I mean RIGHT next to him) or he's actually on the ball, he's perhaps 30 yds away, and always at least 6 yards from the opp. player when they have possession.

He never comes close for an easier pass. He never goes faster than a casual jog. I've seen mountain ranges develop quicker then he 'runs'. He has the mobility of a tower block and the strength of an amoeba.

And yet Martinez gave him the full 90?! No doubt he'll get a starting place in the semis as well. Madness if he does - madness.

2 up and cruising, why not leave him on? Gives other, more important players a rest.

Agree with everything else though.
