He was in my opinion, at best, an average squad player in his prime, around 5 years ago. Quite how he managed to get game time in recent years is beyond me.

I'll admit that the slightest breeze was capable of knocking him off the ball, and the same breeze also likely had a stronger shot than him, but don't let the last couple of years fool you, in his prime Osman was an excellent footballer.

He may not have been the best player we ever had but he never went hiding like some of the loved players did, he just wasn't good enough when he had a bad game and sadly they were too numerous in recent years. I know he couldn't tackle, I know he wound me up when he had a shot as half the time it dribbled along the ground at 2mph but he was one of ours and it wasn't his fault he was kept on long after he should have gone.

Never understood the bile on here about Leon Osman. A good servant to the club, scored a lot of goals. Not involved much last season - that went well. Time to move on, enjoy a few more seasons of football elsewhere. Good luck to him.

In his prime a very good player for us. Probably had the best touch and technique in the team in terms of manipulating the ball with either foot. His greatest goals collection shames most premier league players as well. Sadly some of his best years were wasted by managers playing him wide. He would have thrived on the continent playing in the middle.

Cracking on the ball at times, but 9 out of 10 shots were scuffed, which used wind me up. No strong feelings either way.

Great player for the club, very tidy little footballer. If only Ross saw the game the way Ossie did.
