He was a victim of Moyes and Cahill. A 25-year-old Osman playing as the, errr, number 10, week in, week out, would have been amazing. It's such a shame he was shunted out to wide right for his best years.

I didn't state a particular attribute, so yeah you are wrong, unless you think osman is a better player than cahill was, and ossie doesn't turn better than arteta did or pienaar, he plays most passes back in the direction he received them, pienaar in particular plays the ball around corners, which is why he was a far better link up man, osman is not fit to be mentioned alongside either

I agree that Arteta and Pienaar were better players. If you read back, you'll see that I was basically saying that other than those two, who else would you say had a better first touch since Beardsley?

For me, I'd throw dunc, Barmby and Stones into that mix.

That wasn't meant as a slur on cahill. To put it another way, he was a victim of being more versatile than Cahill. They were both best, at their peak in the same position.

Even if we disagree on Osman's ability, then surely you must agree that using Ossie on the right wing for years was never gonna get the maximum from him?
