There's a huge difference between showing interest in a player and making an actual bid.

There's also a huge difference between failing a medical and being concerned that an old injury might re-occur.

And there's a difference between announcing a deal has been agreed and announcing a signing.

Don't jump to conclusions until the facts are known.
