Leroy Fer

On the basis of that assertion every deal for any player who'd ever had an injury would be subject to initial bid and then a subsequent lower bid after all medicals are completed because all old injuries CAN re-emerge. Your position is preposterous.
Lol. No.A player can have an injury and make a full recovery, to the point where any medical examination would show no evidence of a predisposition to injury further down the line. When it comes to things like ankle and knee ligaments, damage to them can have a long lasting impact and can leave players more likely to experience difficulty in the future. It seems the club was not made aware of Leroy's knee issues other than being told he had experienced a knee injury. Whole different kettle of fish to discover he is now markedly more prone to injury.

I don't know the ins and outs of EFC but I do know that EFC do not have the kind of funds that other PL clubs have and would imagine that the club feel they cannot afford to take the kind of risks that another PL club might take with a player with some sort of history of injury.

By requesting a deal based on appearances it mitigates the risk somewhat.

If he plays regularly we spend 8.5M.... if he is always injured then we spend less.

For a club with limited funds that makes sense to me.

It's pretty well known that Lescott was kneecapped (or something to that effect) prior to signing for us, and often needed fluid draining from his knees in his time here and at City. Pretty sure I've seen quotes from Moyes/Lescott in the past saying other clubs looked but wouldn't take a chance on him, too.
And didn't we sign him for less than what Wolves originally wanted ?

Deal is OFF, not COLLAPSED. Could very well still happen, especially with Fer' agent being pretty much the top dog in Holland. All it takes is him to have a word with Munsterman and then Munsterman to phone Billy K and say that they accept the revised terms.
You dont want to annoy the top agent Holland. This may seem overly optimistic but its a view i hold.
