No, the more accurate analogy would be someone who observed the roof being damaged putting in a bid for the house they thought was commensurate with its value (inclusive of what they thought the impact of that damage was), then making a new bid once they were in and had the advice of their surveyor to hand. In other words, the club put the cart before the horse. It was a completely arse about face affair.
Dave, shut up.

That's complete rubbish and you know it.I've just explained to you why certain injuries leave players more likely to experience injury problems in the long run than others, but you seem to have deliberately ignored it.
I didn't ignore it. I registered it and dismissed it as being misleading and irrelevant.

'We make the offer, he chooses Napoli or Benfica, and we send out a press release about how disappointed we are, that it's too late in the window to find an alternative, etc, etc, and we're good for another six months.'

'He's picked us, Bill.'

'Oh dear.'

Who observed the injury? Unless a roof had a hole in it, I couldn't tell you if it was damaged or not. That's why I hire an inspector.
Moyes has been scouting him during a period of time when he had two injuries. Everton knew damage had been done > offered a deal on what they thought they knew > deal accepted > Everton set a new price once they knew the damage. Best to get the expert advice before making balls on the table statements about signing players I think is the lesson learned here.

Moyes is not a doctor.

Everton offered on what they knew, and then they found out it was worse.

The statement thing I agree with but that doesn't mean the decision to walk away is wrong.

They didn't say they had signed anybody though did they Dave.

Just reading this thread I have to say that I find this davek poster to be deliberately obtuse and purposely dense in order to get his digs in at Bill. Reminds me of Little Joe.

This is a fantastic fake bid though, Bill's really taken it up another level here.
