Leroy Fer

"I was approved by the doctors in England," he said. "The meniscus is firmly back in order, but the wound is still fresh, although I can play back smoothly. Everton then decided to change the method of payment - slightly more for their security than directly because of the medical results. I can understand that, especially when you're talking about this kind of money.''

There's still people out there that think he failed a medical.

*shakes head*

There's also still people out there that think Everton tried to take the p*ss and screwed this up.

Amazing then how the player himself can understand what Everton did without any probelm.

The Everton board can be crucified on many things, but i'm with them on this one. This is a lot of money for us.

But, i was informed yesterday that Heitinga's medical had the same issue. Not sure if i believe that, but the guy who told me also let me know on Tuesday afternoon about Fer's medical.

He is absolutely shattered that this isn't going through. Twente are not getting a happy player back.

'I was in my mind already in Liverpool'
'It seems more and more commonplace to hurt people in this way'
'I'm trying to keep some distance from it, but I cannot deny that this has affected me greatly'
[when told Everton may come back in for him in the summer] 'Ideally before Sunday...' (before Twente play Utrecht)

Apparently Munsterman has a history of jerking around players who want to leave: http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/columns/televisie/21259368/__teleVisie__Duiveltjes_van_Joop__.html

'But how will Fred Rutten, Erik ten Hag, Theo Janssen, Co Adriaanse, Jan van Halst en Luuk de Jong, for example, chuckle over Munsterman's failure. They were - like Fer - faced with damaging actions on their departure from Enschede, which leaked out through the whisper circuit in the Grolsch Veste.'

Maybe Negredo is a better class of player, but Fer seems like he would give his heart for the team. I'm a bit gutted for the lad as well. Put this way, Negredo might make us a better team, but I'd rather buy a Fer shirt. Here's hoping he and his agent can put some pressure on Munsterman and still push this through.

I'd imagine if all else fails this may go through. A bit of leaniency from both clubs will probably broker a deal and Negredo a 20m euro is a joke.

Trouble is some other club will come in and offer more money in summer. We've done the scouting for them, and Fer has been put in the shop window. We really are mugs at this game.

Swallow your pride Bill and pick up the phone. The guy had a relatively minor knee injury and routine surgery to correct it. There is no way it is a bigger risk than giving Jags a new contract for example. Lets do the deal.

I think it's probably too late already. Twente won't want to do it if they don't have time to get replacements in.

agree mate im disgusted with how our board have handled this the lad is desperate to join us and sounds not just a top player but a top guy aswell Kenwright is the biggest redcoat in the history of this club

ssn just said "for the champions league qualification and the potential £20-£30 million pound money that comes with it it makes sense to TAKE A GAMBLE"

this is the point the money was mainly in INSTALLMENTS if it worked out great if it didnt flog him back to some dutch tesm for £2-3 mil and recoup half of the money back. disgraceful this club we are more than happy to pay carts like naismith top dollar who doesnt seem to have 1 working knee never mind 2.
