Why would there be a news blackout of the nature of the charge?

If Dutch law is anything like England & Wales, publishing too much information while the trial's pending / ongoing either risks the case collapsing or the person releasing it facing contempt charges for prejudicing the outcome.

Joop Munsterman? That's what's pleased me most in this thread that there's someone actually called that.

I sounds like a Halloween special edition aftershave that your bint picks up in duty free for you on the cheap.

We bought Ferguson when he had a court case hanging over him too didn't we? Unless he's been bumming kids then he'll be sound. If not then we'll do a kopite defence and point out "at least he's not Stuart Hall".

SHUT YER GRID NEPTUNE HEAD

That's because the show in which Derksen told it is always on Monday/Friday at 20.30 Dutch time.

Worst case scenario is there is truth to these rumours so much that Everton decline to agree personal terms and thus no signing.

If the journo is a friend of the Twente chair, why would he have said this tonight when he surely knew that by doing so it could lead to EFC walking away??

Anyway, I won't lose any sleep tonight - I remember the last jailbird we signed, and he became an Everton legend!!

surely if it were a serious crime, the police wouldn't be letting him leave the country? Don't they normally confiscate your passport so you can't leave the country or something along those lines? I don't watch many police procedural TV shows.

Ok then answer me this

Twente are so keen to get rid of the nut case Fer who has a serious court case hanging over him that they break the story in the Dutch press BEFORE Everton sign him possibly scrapping the transfer and leaving them with a player they are in such a hurry to get out of there club

Why would they do that?

Lol, Derksen actually said that he thought Munsterman wasn't to happy that he was telling this story. :P That's also why he didn't went into details about what Fer had done which lead to a court case.

Leroy Fer who was today transferred to Everton has a court case hanging over his head. The midfielder is expected to appear in court in a few months time.

Johan Derksen announced that news during Voetbal International ( Dutch footy talkshow). The 23 year old Fer is facing a very painfull court case for a serious crime. The transfer of the midfielder comes therefore at a good time for Joop Munsterman (Twente chairman) and Twente. Derksen took the court case of Theo Jansen a few years ago as example, but made it known that Fer's crime is a far more serious one.

* Theo Jansen was convicted for drunk driving btw.

Already posted that a few pages back. Believe me I hope it will all prove to be a storm in a glass of water. I like Fer, think he'll be a tremendous sisning for us. Does that mean I'm not allowed to post anything that isn't positive? As I say, take the information as you like.
