Rafael Benitez is going to do something that 3x champions league winning manager Ancelotti would never do.

He's gonna tell the players what to do.

More revisionist comments, Benitez kool-aid drinking with a few grassing quotes from Leon Osman to top it off.

Normally I defend this sort of thing - it's just a quotes piece to fill column inches - but simultaneously criticising Martinez and crediting Benitez for applying what sounds like a very similar "figure it out for yourself" approach doesn't make a lot of sense.

Our Media & Publications Manager - long-standing Kenwright lickspittle Darren Griffiths - judged the zeitgeist to perfection today when suggesting we needed to channel the spirit of Istanbul to come back from 3-0 down.

This man is employed in a PR role by Everton Football Club, a £multi-million organisation in a £multi-billion industry.

He’s a massive cock. Commentary on that game by the club today was an utter farce.

Again, he's another one of those people - a man who has legitimately said "God bless Blue Bill" in commentary, over a decade ago - who should have been moved on when the role exposed his deficiencies. Instead he seems to be installed for life.

I regularly bail games at half time coz we are [Poor language removed], but now the elm has gone where should I go? Needs a poll really.

Thing is mate, when you take all the bollocks of him being a yes man, his football knowledge is shocking. The both of them today had a mare. They said pogba was coming on at one point but he had already been on since half time. Worse than them yank commentators we had for the Florida cup

He’s a bit two faced , he published a autobiography in which he resented the downward trajectory of the first team in the very late 80s & early 90s which resulted in him signing for Oldham. These days he placates it. Great player for us no doubt, brilliant, as a person I can’t take to him.

Darren Griffiths, David Prentice and our piss-awful media team in a nutshell, here:

Prentice, whose new book A Grand Old Team To Report: 45 Years Of Following Everton Football Club is available online and in book stores now, also tells of how Walter Smith had to lie to him about Nick Barmby, Keith recalls how close Bobby Robson came to the manager’s job at Goodison Park and both reveal the best Blues player they have ever had the pleasure to watch.

The club site, promoting the book (it has an actual link in the article) of the Echo's chief Everton writer, all facilitated by Darren.

No wonder "Copy-Paste" Prentice always looks a little too cosy.

I'd go to Stanley park, wade across the lake to the island and live the life of a recluse, living off duck and bread crusts

Get ready for plenty of this dissent-silencing guff in the next couple of days. Do please send through any examples.

I genuinely dont remember any managers getting the level of excuses Benitez is in certain quarters. I find it a bit strange really. Far from being overly harsh, there is a lot of leniency and excuses being made for Benitez.

I'm not one of the most avid Benitez out people either, but he seems to be getting a very easy pass to me.

Like on the tweet, it's a bit toxic, as we have just been hammered 4-0. It would be strange if it were not a bit toxic.
