I don't know if it's apathy or just the calm before the storm, but, like a volcano, I sense the vitriol just ticking overuntil the right moment. It'll come sooner rather than later imho and it'll make any previous fury seem like a tea party.
There's still the Osterich's about tho thinking it will all blow over and the fans all need to back the manager regardless.
They truly dont understand the implications of what inevitably is about to unfold.
I'm dreading it to be honest.

I have absolutely no idea. But I am in no doubt at all, looking at some of the cookie-cutter text, that a key stakeholder list gets a steer from Everton directly.

There was a Tony Kay tweet just before Benitez signed where it was totally different to all the rest of his usually. It had been copy-pasted from a script out, 100%. Same as one from Bellew.
I could go and look for this from Bellew but I'm useless on twitter, what did he say? Cheers!

Or you could tell me to sort my tech out and find it myself!

I'm hoping it's the former, there's a lot of Blue on Blue going down at the moment and we all need friends!

UTFT!

Its surprising people are filing in behind Benitez so much. I thought that he might have critics in the boardroom and this sort of stuff would be held off. I dont actually remember many managers getting this level of leniency.

Is Bill driving this?
On here
Some are doing it out because "he's been hired, what else can you do but support him?"
Some are doing it for comedy value.
But the number of rabidly pro-Benitez posters who turned up within hours of his appointment does look to be a concerted PR push however (they can't all be Kopites).

We have a thread like this ever summer to be honest - and could have done since the days of Ian Ross!

It never gets any less sledgehammer subtle, amateur and rat-biting from Everton.
I remember on Blue kipper, when DK was being pushed lots of new posters saying how great it was, the E**o giving 4 pages spreads to Terry Leahy to push the move, and a leaked email/document about supporters clubs/websites who could be relied on to help push certain view points, especially if the was an incentive to do so

Jesus wept... If el gordo "working tirelessly" yields Andros Townsend's Newcastle performances then we are doomed. Don't footballers realise how stupid they sound when they say stuff like this?

Wrapped up in their own egocentric bubble. They need to be ... if they properly understood just how crap they are, they wouldn't have the brass neck to walk onto the pitch.

I'm pretty much not bothered about Benitez either way but want the team to do well, by default that means he has to. Can I ask what purpose it will serve if we turn on him 6-7 weeks into his appointment??? Please enlighten me

I hope for the greater good of Everton you are wrong and the ostriches are correct. However, having watched that friendly twice now, the defending was abysmal on Saturday. Can forgive the lack of goal and chances but not the defending, woefully short. Was expecting a clean sheet and boring display, truly was but oh no. And it's a settled back line of 6 personal, who looked as if they never played together before.

I see the party line about our finances is that this could potentially turn out like the year we sold Wayne Rooney.

If only every other team in the league hadn't kicked on since then.

Oh there will be fighting in the stands like in third season of Martinez.

No link, but you can guess the stenographers here.

Same article:

“For example, if they were to sign a player for £20million and stuck him on a five-year contract and then it’s amortised over the span of the contract, working out as £4million a season.

“I think they can spend modestly but getting someone like James Rodriguez, who effectively came on a Bosman, off the wage bill would free them up to recruit elsewhere.”

Cringe
