Players like Kevin Ratcliffe and Gary Stevens wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes with the baying mobs of today. I wasn't overly impressed when I first saw them, but they turned out alright.
I remember Sharp getting booed during games, when he first came from Dumbarton,I never booed by the way,if your good enough and man enough, boos and a baying mob is like water off a ducks back,he overcame it because he wasn’t a snowflake.
If players fold because of criticism their not going to make it anyway,no matter how talented they are.
I would boo sharp today though, for his treatment of the supporters and his “ one man and his dog”comment and cosying up to Billy Liar to top his nest egg.

Semedo had a great game and yet should have been sent off due to Dobbin's never say die and high energy game.

I dont think a loan to the championship does him any good at all. Either keep him in the squad or, if PSV sell Bakayoko (hopefully to us) send him there on loan.

Need him to be ready for next season as an option.

Depends if PSV want him, PSV are a big club and not a feeder club for us were we can just ship out kids too on loan

Thought he did ok, Semedo did have the better of him but he never stopped going and has pace which helped us transition upfield quicker. First start in the Premier League and held his own up against an experienced fullback. Not letting his head drop is a good sign.
Agree semedo is a good right back. Plays for Portugal and previously Barca. He probably better going forward then defensively, but his pace gets him out of trouble. Was a good test for dobbin and he would have learnt from it. Think one of the issues was young wasn’t giving the overlap to create space. But yet again I can’t expect young to do that all the time at his age. Also in his mind he probably wary of the ball being turned over and Neto breaking into space. Hopefully dobbin has took good experience from that. As he can’t just use his pace. But promising signs.

Sharp looked useless till Eastoe got put next to him and learned him the ropes , different player after that.
Very underestimated Eastoe in my book class ac wish we had got him earlier in his career.

Nothing against Dobbin at all - but him starting for us only 3 games into the season is an indictment of our dreadful squad.

He needs a championship loan - get one more winger in and I’d imagine he’d go. Harrison,McNeill, danjuma, Iwobi and one more would be enough and let Dobbin develop at his own pace.
Harrison, McNeil, Iwobi, DCL all injured means were understandably a bit short on wide players. That’s 4 players you’d expect to start if they were fit.

Aye I'd say support from Young was the big thing lacking for him, and you might attribute it to several factors. Possibly this was down to tactics: Maybe Dyche told him to try and beat his man (which he struggled with), and Young to stay back, but surely they should've changed it around to give more play like the good old Baines / Pienaar double trouble style we played way back.

Conversely, it's also clear the wingers were told to play crosses in but there was a lot of times when the central through ball was on in the early attack phase which we did not take. Pity that.

Agree, we can’t be clear on what instructions and tactics they have been told. We still don’t know, well I don’t know what are style is when In possession.
I do have a feeling McNeil will move centrally with danjuma and Harrison on the wings. Hopefully McNeil can find those passes in the middle.

Going forward though...as a club there should be games where we play Dobbin, Chermitti, Branthwaite etc.

Need to have to stability first. But ideally there should be an aim to give them starts during a season to develop them rather than it be due to injuries

Have thought for a bit that Mcneil will move to midfield. I can actually see him more on the left of a 3 instead of central
Something like
Danjuma- dcl/beto- Harrison
Mcneil- Onana- Garner
