I thought he was one of the better players for everton during the wolves game , and his earlier cameos were promising as well. Posseses an driving direct attacking dynamism that is absent otherwise from us on the pitch. Yes there's some rawness to his game that he could hone but it's third game in the Premier League you absolute over scrutinizing whingers. I feel if he keeps refining his game he could definitely make the transition to a premier league player who features on the regular

I hate evertonians sometimes, just so predictable to go in on the young players.

Give me a team of young players doing their best than the usual suspects not even being arsed and failing miserable.

Dobbin did nothing wrong for gods sake, he was that good semedo should have seen two yellows, don’t know what game some of you actually watch.
The pitch fork gang is out sooner than I predicted. One game is all it takes to trigger the horde.

He isn't currently at the level that we need, and I personally doubt he ever reach PL standard. He needs a loan move to a championship team to see if he can hold down a regular place. Then we might have our answer.
Errrr, he spent all of last season at Derby.

We’ve always gone in too quick on young players, and writ them off, but maybe our current woes have accelerated the horde to go for blood super quickly?

So bored of it - knew it would happen as soon as any of them got minutes.

I know, Let’s go back the the useless crabs who’ve consistently failed at the club instead of giving the kids a chance and getting behind them shall we?

People need to realise this league is full of top class international defenders with years of experience. Years of lavish spending in this league had created such circumstances where any young attacking players emerging from the academy faces a daunting learning curve and yet expected to produce results instantly. This mindset is simply not realistic and silly.

Look at Sancho and many others who perform fantastic in other league but struggled to deal with the level of defending here.

Let them learn, allow them mistakes along they way, not that difficult isn’t it

Exactly this. Give him time, and minutes. He probably shouldn't be starting games, but he should be getting useful time on the pitch. Say 20 mins here and there, and cup games.

Players like Kevin Ratcliffe and Gary Stevens wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes with the baying mobs of today. I wasn't overly impressed when I first saw them, but they turned out alright.
Rats started at left back if I remember rightly, don't remember Shagger's early games

That was League 1, and he didn't hold down a starting place.
Granted, however its a team with much bigger expectations than three quarters of the Championship and by all accounts they wanted to take him for another season so I assume he made a positive impression. Plus Dyche reckons he's earned his chance in preseason.

Has anyone suggested he did? People are just saying that he's not at the level yet.

The people making out he had this spectacular game are the ones who will do him no favours in the long term.

It doesn't look like he'll quite have the output we need this season, even if he looks bright and direct. Another loan would probably be best for him, and a more experienced player in that position is probably better for us.

I remember us being 1 up at home to Coventry in the league Cup in injury time, and he tried to nutmeg Tommy Hutchinson instead of booting it into row z, resulting in Hutchinson bombing down the wing and providing the cross for the equaliser. Kendall stuck with him though, thankfully.

Nothing against Dobbin at all - but him starting for us only 3 games into the season is an indictment of our dreadful squad.

He needs a championship loan - get one more winger in and I’d imagine he’d go. Harrison,McNeill, danjuma, Iwobi and one more would be enough and let Dobbin develop at his own pace.
