I see why you'd think so but I don't think we're talking £10m+ here, I really don't. I know Sturridge is expected to cost a fair bit but he's English and an attacker; I don't think Holtby is hyped as much as him (and I don't think Schalke are financially the same as Chelsea either).

I really think £3-5m will be the going price if he does go but we'll see.
 
Schalke will convince him to sign a new contract because it's pretty much his best current chance of CL football, he'll go way out of our price range and end up at another CL club in a year or two.

Also i feel like i'm stomping on your dreams Tubey but i REFUSE to get excited about a possible transfer target in October, especially in this kind of dreamy situation.

Not at all! It's a pipe dream at the end of the day and I'm not gonna jump off a cliff if it doesn't happen! I actually think he's "at our level" in terms of ability rather than a reincarnated Messi but he'd be a handy addition 'tis all.

As I say, an upper class Leon Osman is the way to describe him from what I've seen :P

Well,

There's a 27.8843277326% that we will sign Lewis Holtby in January. And that is decreasing rapidly.

There's currently a 43.876534776% chance we will ever sign him at all.

And it's currently 50/50 that's he's any good anyway.
 
We have no chance of signing him, i could see the ****e or Newcastle going in for him, hes deffo a Rodgers type player anyway, but everyone saying we couldnt afford it, we tried quite hard to sign midfielders that were quite highly priced on deadline day so there is some.
 

If he won't get a new contract till the end of this year, I would on Moyes' place take a plane to Gelsenkirchen on 1st January and offer him and his friend Huntelaar a massive contract from the next season on Bosman rules completely free! These two would make our team completely CL caliber team..
 
Would love to get this guy and seems a no brainer of a deal for both player and EFC really.

I don't think it's Coincedence he's not signing a new contract. He wants to come to England. Whether he really wants to come to Everton or moyes wants him I'm not sure. But I'd be supprised if either don't fancy linking up.

Personally from the bits Iv seen of him he looks a great prospect but on a free and being able to play all accross midfield if he just turned out a good squad player it would still be a good aquisistion.

I'm no ITK but I'd place a cheeky £10 on holtby being at finch farm in the summer!
 
Ive seen him once or twice havnt really seen what the fuss has been about - on a free though - why not.

We dont have to pay a fee or anything to Shalke for developing him do we?
