Exactly! Where is the fit alien thread and are they keen?
Seeing as the ideal male specimen, galactically speaking, appears to be a middle aged man who has gone slightly to pot but can still make the univers's most alluring mating call - the "boo" - then to say that they are keen is to undestimate their desires for the posters of GOT.

Personally I think she looks like she'd be keen to have a go.

When discussing this type of issue, people often fail to grasp that the question “Is there a God?” is not equivalent to “Is this/that/any particular religion true?”.

Would life on another planet be problematic for lots of established religions? Definitely, but then as others have said, they’ve managed to survive over a century of withering scientific discoveries. It’s hard to see this being the one that finally kills them off.

Does life on another planet have any implication for the question of God’s existence? I don’t personally believe it changes anything. From an empirical perspective it’s already a fairly pointless question, but as long as the door of possibility remains open I think religion or religious experience of some sort will continue.

Considered thought. I wasn't really expecting that, but I liked it!

The fact that religion is completely fabricated hokum would indicate that it adherents have some issues with the truth. Aliens won’t impact on their smooth brains in the slightest.

I think given the infinite vastness of the universe, planetary physics dictates that there is / has been and will be other intelligent life somewhere out there. However, we may not be in a position to find it or prove it during our window of opportunity.

It would seem that it has taken our planet 4.5 billion years to get to the stage where it can support intelligent life.
If the dinosaurs hadn’t been wiped out 66 million years ago they’d most probably still be here and we’d have never got the opportunity / incredible luck to evolve in the last 300,000 years.

Given the high probability that we will have wiped ourselves out by war or by making the earth uninhabitable in the next 300,000 years the chances of communicating with other intelligent life over the huge distances of intergalactic space, who are by chance in a similar window of evolution / opportunity as us is…pretty unlikely.

Let’s just try and enjoy what we have. Happy Friday everyone! COYB.

Nothing will kill religion, because devotees will always find a way to shoehorn their belief into things although wothout thought.

And extremists will always find a justification for violence sadly.

Yer Ma aliens yer Ma. Do they even have Ma's? The discovery of Alien life poses more questions than it answers. Have Liverpool claimed them yet?
