Yes, Barbue d'Anvers is a nice place if you want to try local food and it's very close to the Grand' Place (Main Square) :

And they have another restaurant in Lille which is not very far :

And yes, Meert is very famous in Lille (like Fortnum & Mason in London) for their delicious pastries and waffles but it's expensive.
Another Lille's sweet specialty is "Les Merveilleux de Fred" :

They even used to open 2 shops in London some months ago.

Another good spot if you want to eat something is to go to "Rue de Gand" (Ghent Street). It's a beautiful street not very far away from the Main Square and there are dozens of restaurants (regional food, gascon food, italian, greek, moroccan, etc).

Two of us are riding over on bikes so I got us the E-tickets,
I have sent our E-tickets for Wolfsburg and Kransandor to a friend in Lille and also told them that if any friends, local youth club etc. want some to let me know and I will put them in touch with Everton fans with "spares".
We should be able to organise that from here I think.

I'm posting my Krasnodar tickets to friends in Lille, but I'm happy to give my Wolfsburg ones to whoever people decide they go to, local youth clubs is a good idea.

Finally got through to the ticket stage on the lille site after trying for a couple of days. Is anyone sitting in 'J'? If anyone is where about are you sitting? If you don't want to post your seats on here PM me, would just rather sit by fellow blues being in the home end that's all.

Cheers mate would hate to waste them and the ground being half empty. I couldn't imagine the fury if the whole of the lower Gladwys was blocked out for 3 games.

You
Gonna be madness - saying that we cross the channel via the train , was hoping for the ferry. Fingers crossed they have stop off at service stations along the way ;)
You're doing it right mate....tunnel much better than ferry....last time I went to Lille I did ferry to Calais on a lads booze cruise two weeks before the Zeebrugge disaster. It was a force 8 gale going and a gentle 6 or 7 coming back....sick as dogs all 16 of us both ways ha ha....actually saw people turn green. Never been in a ferry since other than Stockholm to Helsinki a few times.
I'm going through tunnel in the car...nice easy drive.

Only ever been on the mersey ferry so was wanting to see what crossing the channel would be like. Never mind im sure we will have the French coach rocking , iDBus us all the way ooh la la

Imagine being on a white knuckle ride and chucking-up for 2 hours during and 6 hours after the journey...and every time you truly and make a step forward the ground isn't there......that's an accurate summary of a cross channel ferry in bad weather.

was on it last week, they don't seem to bother with the stabilisers any more, as soon as you leave the port the side on current makes the floor shift about even in calm seas.
