How expensive is it in Lille compared to Paris? Just the essentials like food and ale, and what times do the trains stop running back to Brussels? @JimEFC

What are the best football bars and are they near the stadium?

Also, can you buy tickets on the gate for the home end?

Thirdly, if I wear my everton shirt in the home end will I get beaten up?

Thank you, great thread this!!

We've got a spare seat in the car. If there's any Evertonians in their shirt at Calais I'm sure you can jump in with us for a laugh!

KOP FANS GET LILLE BIT LOST

Confidential's favourite story of the week: the four dozy Liverpool fans who trekked into Europe to watch their team and ended up around 100 miles from the stadium in the wrong Lille.

The quartet mistook a quiet village near Antwerp, in Belgium, for the 250,000-population French city and pitched up on Thursday.

Local councillor Ann van Mechelen said: "The four men asked me to take a photo of them in front of the town hall crest. They asked if they still had far to go, and we had a good laugh about it."

lol

I've booked a few days in Lille in the hope of being able to get some tickets - I'm going by car, but the hotel is charging 18 euro a day to park - I've heard there's a free park and ride scheme - could I leave my car there for 3 days?
Thanks

How far is Lille train station from the stadium? Looking to stay in Paris for a few days after it and was going fly to Paris and get the train up on the day.

@JimEFC Any idea what allocation we are likely to get for this?

Do you know what other clubs in the Europa League have got before at Lille?

Just wondering about how easy tickets will be as i'll be after 5. I noticed last season Eintracht Frankfurt took about 13,000 to Bordeuax. Would that have been loads of them in the home end next to the away fans or did Bordeaux let them have as many tickets as they want for the away end?

I never knew that - so do they speak Vlaams or some dialect that is closer to it than French?/

Just interested as a keen amateur linguist!!

They speak French but there's a language called Ch'ti. Like "Shhhhtee" (yeah I know) which is from that region. It sounds a bit like Popeye speaking French lol

The food is a mix of French and Flemish, Welsh Rarebit "Welsch" is a big favourite. Also the kebab shops are top notch :)

There's lots of Flemish architecture too. It only became French about 500 years ago I think.

Is there a main square where everybody will be able to meet up ? Rather than been spread about around the city.

Yep - it's conveniently called Grand Place, you can't miss it.

Anyway gotta get going now or I'll miss the kick off! COYB !!
