I was at the match at Anfield last season and i heard it with my own ears ffs.
That's life, we both have nob heads who let us down. That's just the way it is and it won't change.
Team:
-------------------Howard---------------------
Hibbert-----Jagielka----- Lescott-----Baines
---------------Neville------Arteta--------------
Osman----------Anichebe--------------Pienaar
--------------------Cahill- -------------------
I'd change as little as possible and ask Anichebe to play a little bit deeper that normal. There centre half's always do well against big strong players, however with Victor coming a little bit deeper it would leave them in a situation of one of them having to go deep with him or Mascherano having to pick him up and I am can see him winning the aerial battle there or at least disrupting there shape. Cahill's been fantastic upfront, a proper fighter up there and he'll have them up the wall, chasing lost causes, battling for everything and he's very clever, I could also see him winning loads of free kicks round the box.
The rest of the team picks itself and the front 2 could always be changed if it's not working.
That's probably the best way to summarise it.
Interesting, it could work. Victor is decent at getting hold of the ball and laying it off. He's also a useful battering ram when he wants to be. That's basically the role Fellaini is playing at the moment.
Cahill's workrate and tenacity upfront is key, it could set the tempo of how we play.
I think Cahill must be left up front, he's been outstanding there and is playing better than any of our strikers were and much better than he was in the middle, whilst I can't remember one time when Osman playing in the hole behind as worked.
Osman has all the attributes for that position but he's just too slow and weak, when space is at a premium for him he doesn't wriggle out of things with the ball as you would expect, he gets crowded out and out muscled. It was no coincidence that from the time we played Fulham away last year, West Ham at home when Osman got moved into the hole due to injuries, our form went down the pan and we looked toothless. Even last week when we broke 4 on 2 with Osman carrying the ball, he was lost and ran up a blind alley.
Vic's improving, he's looked good in a wide midfield role, he's worth a gamble in the hole behind Cahill were he will win lots of aerials balls and will be hard to mark. As far as I am concerned it's worth a gamble, I don't want Cahill moved, I want as little change as possible and there's not many other options available.
Victor's not perfect by any means but he is going to play (unless he gets injured) so we may aswell find the best role for him. I think we could see this is Moyes sticks with Cahill upfront:
-----Osman-----Neville-----Arteta-----
Anichebe--------------------------Pienaar
-----------------Cahill-------------------
4-3-3 maybe?
I like that even better, Osman would be much more effective in a deeper more central role. Ball retention is really important, especially early on when the will come flying out the traps and they will struggle to get it back of Osman and Arteta in that area.
Cahill may be a bit isolated but we can change accordingly as the game goes on.

Lets change the subject then, how will the mighty reds line up on Monday?
