Carrick fletcher Giggs
Ronaldo Tevez Rooney
07/08 man its team would wipe the floor with the current Liverpool side

My brother is a united fan (probably the only united fan in Bootle) and was getting all misty eyed over what Eric Cantona would do to that Liverpool side last night.

I think they assembled 2 teams better than current Liverpool in Ferguson's time.

One of the many reasons the “invincible” season is overrated. Diving expert Pires cheats to get Arsenal a point (6:25, he swings his right leg at the Portsmouth player)

Danny Mills on Pires

Worst is Pires denied diving during that PL legends show that profiled him recently. To persist in lying even when caught out makes him devoid of any credibility. Rivaldo’s dive at the 2002 WC also ruined his legacy, which is a pity as he was every bit as good as Ronaldinho (also performed better for Brazil).

Taking nothing away from Arsenal as regardless of 12 draws which included Van Nistelrooy’s last minute pen hitting the crossbar, Pires dive etc. nobody beat them, but points won is the best measure of achievement. You have to also factor in performance abroad, and this is where Arsenal collapse in comparison to this RS side, as well as Man U for that matter.

Wow you really are putting in some effort to try and justify your idiotic idea that this team is the best in PL history.

That team wasn’t even that good though. It lost 5 times including getting smacked by Bolton and West Ham.

That team was absolute sex, as evidenced by the fact that a player of the class of Scholes was no longer 1st choice. It helps to recall that they were a pretty thin squad as well... Wes Brown, John O Shea and Nani were all there.

They would do appalling things to the current RS.

72 new accounts from different box rooms around the world have just signed up to prove you wrong.

You’re on crack mate the nucleus of that team from 06-09 won three titles on the bounce broke the consecutive clean sheets record won the CL and league cup.
Vidic and Rio were imperious constantly producing what VVD has done over a longer period of time. VDS is better than Allison ever was. Carrick was miles better than anything them lot have in the middle.

and Rooney and Ronaldo were a few levels better than there current forwards it really Isn’t a debate

They went invincible. It doesn’t matter how they did it the fact is it hadn’t been done and it hasn’t been repeated since. That is the best team of the PL era.

Had been done before

I remember a similar argument when it looked like Rush might score in every round of the FA Cup a lad in my school said it had never been done. Pointed out that it had... Kopite: "Yeah but that was ages ago so who cares?"
