Davek not sure if you’ve been into the city the last week or so, me and the wife have been a couple of times including yesterday, it brilliant the atmosphere is tremendous and if we can get into town on Saturday we will, although we won’t stay late. And we don’t like Eurovision and never watch it.

I genuinely love the Eurovision, it's always done in great spirit and even though Ireland have done horrendously in it the last decade, it is a fun, unique event that any city should be proud to host. Liverpool looks like it is doing a great job, I've always thought it was a genuinely beautiful city and now more people are getting to see that. I can't think of a single negative tbh
I think scousers have become so accustomed to the "bad" side of the city being portrayed, we find it difficult to adjust to receiving so much praise. Surprisingly I feel as though I'm missing out not living in the city anymore tbh.

The Eurovision thread was one of the highlights of the forum last year for me; it was great fun in here. I do hope that is replicated again this year and the thread isn't hijacked by the internet warriors. ;)

Have you been the Euro Vision park at the Pier Head? I was there yesterday when Miles Kane was on, only complaints is food prices but the artists that are playing you would have to pay more then what a pint is costing so its all good

Haha trust you Dave lol

It's, objectively, been awesome for the city. Went to that Eurovision Village on the Pier Head earlier in the week and it was a great atmosphere. Already hearing loads of Europeans, including the acts themselves, saying that the whole setup & welcome from the people of Liverpool has been second to none.
Also the benefits to the wider community, my friend has a cafe in town and the taking have been crazy, extra staff working too, people are doing well out of this

Yeah down there last Friday when last year’s winner was on thought it was good fun, agree with you about prices, except though.

Let me just remind you: this is Eurovision. An absolute midden of a competition full of 'wacky' foreigners wearing 'bonkers' gear with a thimbleful of talent. It's an assault on the senses; a crime against humanity.

I hope it pisses down.

Hurrah for the spivs ripping people off.

Fair enough, it's going to be an earner for the city. And the contest itself is tv gold for the ludicrous tat on show. But it feels like this has been well overplayed.

IMO, it's making Liverpool look a bit needy and desperate, all the pre-event programme and 'festival' organisation.

Just my opinion like.

Others might be looking forward to the circus coming to town.
It might be your opinion but as ever you are correct.

Apart from the performance against Brighton this would be a perfect description of us in our pink kit!
