Liverpool v Chelsea

Probably the worst team and situation for Liverpool since....well...I can ever remember.

A complete and utter mess that will take years to even begin to turn around...and that's even with bucketloads of cash from tomorrow.

<purrs contentedly>

You just know they will get bought out in the summer and untold wealth, along with what I fear most: a decent manager.

It's the way of the world.

To be honest, they can keep GBH. He's not a top class, game changing player anymore for me. If they get shut of Torres that would be sweet as a nut.

Absolutely. I don't want them receiving an over inflated penny for Gerrard, he's hit the wall already and it's great to watch.

Torres is a wonderful player and one I'd love to see them without.

That'll happen. Maybe not Man City cash, but any new buyer will have to spend big. I do think, though, that even in that scenario (and that could take forever given 'dem Yanks' want an arm and a leg for their shares) they're looking at a rebuilding period of years and years to get up to title standard.

It's all good on that score.

From what I've seen Liverpool supporters wanted to lose so United didn't get the title.

Now, there's passion for your club, and everyone has teams that they don't like, but actually wanting your team to lose just so another team doesn't win the league is a bit sad and obsessive in my eyes. There have been teams I've wanted to lose but only because it affects Leeds, Millwall being an example. Liverpool aren't even going to be playing CL next year. The whole point of supporting your club is wanting the 11 lads on the pitch to win no matter what, not to say "actually, **** it, let's see them roll over just so we can get one over on United."

Rant over.

To be honest, I'd want Everton to throw a game if it meant fcuk all to us and it meant Liverpool being denied a trophy. The issue with this lot is that they'd be all over the media screaming blue murder about a stitch up.

never mind. What goes round comes round. United are a powerful force in the game and that gifting of three points to Chelsea today wont go unpunished somewhere at some crucial point in the future.

The thing is, there's obviously no way Liverpool will be in the CL, if I was a supporter, or if it was Leeds in that position instead of Liverpool I'd have wanted us to have done one last thing of worth in this season, that being beating Chelsea.

Although yeah, Liverpool have nothing to lose now, but I just find it odd, people wanting their team to lose. As I say, it kinda defeats the point of being a "supporter".

Of course, Liverpool fans with their tendency to portay themselves as heroes, will now say they made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good.:dodgy:

It's the rs fans that do my head in. They will whinge and complain and utilise every excuse for their short comings. Now they've ran out of excuses but will still try and find something to complain about.

No shame in putting your hands up and saying "fair enough, were [Poor language removed]" and leaving it at that.

They won't even admit stevie gbh has played one of the worst seasons he's ever played. This game just proved it and they got well battered by a better ran club with a better manager.

Anyway, hope Rafael stays.

Well I wouldn't.

So if next week, we couldnt finish any higher than 8th or any lower than 8th and if we lose the RS would lose the Title, you wouldnt pray for an Everton defeat? I know I would, hell even Moyes would.

Well no I wouldn't. If Liverpool win the title it's cos they deserve to, United have won loads of trophies over the last 20 years cos quite simply they have been the best side.

To not want your team to win to let another side lose a trophy is just childish.

In life theres things that have to happen for the greater good.
