We'll beat Villa comfortably, and put in a boss performance like the 4-4 draw vs United after the semi.

You massive gang of bottlers.

I'm fairly sure you should watch the first half hour again, which is what I was talking about. The second and third were after the fact when we pressed up the chase the game. The first half hour was the killer, we started wrong.

All they were having before that first goal were harmless shots from distance. Our tactics after that first goal in throwing people forward and poor mistakes is why we've been battered here. We were passing it well before they scored, but we were having trouble carving them open. They were shooting from distance because they couldn't break us down. The first goal gave them the edge, not us standing off them.

Worst defensive performance I have seen in a very long time.

The two lads in front barry and mc carthy have done nothing to sheild the back 4.

Both were poor against Stevenage as well (especially Barry who was awful), we may have won that game but there were quite a few sloppy performances which seem to have just carried on into this game. It's ridiculous that they can't be up for a game like this, Liverpool turn up every year so it's not a surprise they'd play well, what's so annoying is that they haven't even had to - they've had an easy night tonight and actually deserve to be winning by 4 goals (and you couldn't argue if it were more).

Don't worry lads, we've got 400 passes to their 223. We might not have won in "goals" but we won on passes and that's what counts, right?

we are already in a bad run of form in the league. that second half at West Brom was appalling and now this.

We've been actually "bad" since mid-December, but we've managed to utilise the tailend of our early momentum and grind out results.

Lukaku has been non-existent since November and we haven't had the link-up play or ability to attack consistently. All tonight is is the first time a coherent side has put us on the back foot and exposed us.

Exposed is the key word. We've simply been exposed. We need two, three players - a competent striker, a creative central midfielder and a centre-half/left-back cover for Baines. And we need them now; not in the summer, and on permanent deals. None of this "January isn't ideal" crap; it's a transfer window, spend money now.
