I would absolutely love a win there

Shove it to their fans

Shove it to their gobby ex players

Shove it to the clown pundits like Merson "Everton defended well but Chelsea were poor and could have scored 3" clown

Its a shame Klopp doesn't have them going into this game as relaxed as the pundit world do as I can see a few people suprised come Sunday...

Problem for me is that they will get a pen, I am pretty certain they will. That means we have to score two to get a win and I simply cannot see us doing that? So for me a 0:0 or 1:1 draw coming up and in my opinion that will still be good progress!
Of course I hope we smash them and that Salah and VVD both have herniated disks during the match, just to see their heads explode, but I also want to see which one of the banana splits Koop looks like when he isn’t flashing them gnashers

Ive seen this heaps but I swear its the first time Ive heard the commentator defend Grobelaar that the ball was deflected on the way through. Now that video is as foggy as my eyes on a post-match Sunday morning but that trickled in. I still play in goal, fat, in my 50s and trees fall faster than me but if I let one in like that Id take up lawn bowls.

The closer we get the more convinced I am were are getting a result, a good one.

Predictions on rawk are outstanding, a mix of eopke thinking gomes is a sitting defensive midfielder, Pickford is equal level to mignolet, digne would be just above Moreno and is far inferior to Andy the turner Robinson, that Gomes will be easily able to handle Richarlison and that they should just leave him and vvd and Allison to deal with our attack whilst they go forward with everyone else.

Their team has even a slight hint of that attitude about us we will dry bum them everywhere.

They also seem to reckon they can repeat the two 4-0s, failing to see that for both of those results we had a injury wrecked team and for the second the club was in a utter mess on and off field for it.

Gonna be a rude awakening as it appears none of them have actually seen is play lately under Silva.

Grobelaar had an arm injury if you remember. They took a chance on him and it backfired. Him and Lawrenson had a mix up in the first half at the Anfield Road end where I was and we should have had a pen for a foul by Lawrenson (didn't get it, shock horror), then he let this one in and a forty yarder from Ratcliffe that trickled through him as well. I seem to remember we beat them twice and they somehow won the double, great and yet terrible year!!

Right boys, I've completed my computer simulation of this game using PES.

Tosun

Richarlison Bernard

Gomes Siggy
Gana

Digne Mina Keane Coleman

Pickford

Tosun chosen for his physicality in this match. Game started a bit tentatively, with rs pressure, the first time Everton got the ball and released Coleman up the wing, there was a small scuffle where Bernard clipped a player and Coleman got booked for it on 5 minutes (realistic reffing). Oh it's THAT kind of ref - ease off the tackle button for this game then.
After Bernard missed a sitter, the rs hit the post with one attack before Richarlison was put through to make it 1-0 in first half injury time. The dog looked at me strangely for leaping out of my seat fist pumping.
Mina made an essential goal saving tackle in the penalty area from the resulting kick off - this in the 49th minute, despite there being only 1 minute injury time (realistic reffing). The rs finish the first half with 62% possession but 1-0 down.

69 minutes - after some nice interchange by a purring Everton team, Bernard, put through by a cute pass from Tosun, misses another sitter. Subs (due to fatigue) Richarlison for Lookman; Walcott for Siggy.

Seconds later, Walcott one on one on the break misses a sitter. Lookman dribbles into the penalty area and brings off an awkward save from the rs keeper.

Yeeeeeeeers! Bernard threads Lookman through with a peach of a ball towards the penalty spot and Lookman makes it 2-0.

90th minute, Tosun put through on the break to miss a one on one narrowly wide. 3 mins extra time announced.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooal! 92 mins - Lookman dances past 3 rs defenders on the edge of the box before releasing a thunderous effort to the far post to make it 3-0. Everton have absolutely owned this second half.

Top players (according to the computer: Mina, Coleman, Richarlison, Tosun all 7/10; Lookman 7.5/10. To my eyes, Gana motm for his total ownership of any rs attack.

I'm not a gambler, but for those of you who are, go forth now, safe in the knowledge that computer modelling has put this game firmly in the hands of the glorious blues.

If we had a top striker up top for us I would say go as we have been but the reason they are unbeaten is that they play hoof up to the front 3 to nick a goal or two whilst defending well enough to keep teams out.

I think if Silva is honest with himself, he must see that we are not creating enough chances against the top sides (no goals in open play against Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea and the only goal scored was from a pen) and go 3 at the back to negate them trying to sucker punch us on the break.

I would take a point now and hope we sign a quality striker in Janaury and smash them at Goodison, but as a club right this second I still think we are a bit shy up top and for me Silva is foolish if he doesnt play a tight game and practise set pieces all week in training and try get a scrappy 1-0 / 2-1 win.
