Newcastle on Wednesday... need to learn a few lessons from yesterday and go for the kill. Newcastle have dropped right off and are there for the taking.

I can see him maybe switching Williams for Keane, and hopefully Martina for Lennon and starting with Lennon/Holgate/Keane/Kenny.

Gueye and Schneiderlin will probably mop up (or at least try to) ahead of the defence, and then a floating Rooney with Sigurdsson and I hope Vlasic or Lookman given licence to roam ahead of him and support the striker of either DCL or Niasse.

Without Coleman or Baines coming back it would be very difficult to drop any of the back four, even Martina.

Busy period coming up, and we'll need to utilise every fit player.

When we beat them 2-0 and Roy Hodgson came out saying anyone who watched the match would agree Liverpool at worst deserved a point.

Everyone laughed at him and he was subsequently fired from a rocket to the moon and was unfortunate enough to land outside West Broms ground.

IIRC they were more depressed and angry at Yanks I than enraged like they are now. Even the 3-0, the Cadamateri derby and the first Joe Royle derby didn't see the levels of fume that this one has, though admittedly they were all pre-social media and comments on match reports.

I've watched the whole match again this afternoon. At just under 18 minutes DCL commits the identical foul on Lovren that Lovren committed on DCL for the penalty, and Lovren was awarded the free kick. What's sauce for the goose etc..........
