..which is why it's perfectly understandable that fans are pessimistic about this game. The Reds have not been significantly better than us over that period yet our team continually surrender to the status quo. It's difficult not to see the same happening today.
From your own football experience @Eggs, can you coach mental resilience into a player or is it something you are born with?

Or I suppose, can Koeman coach this out of the players who have bottled it at Anfield before?

Imagine, just imagine: us getting a penalty at the Pit.

Has it ever happened? Jebus, the amount of times it SHOULD have is insane.

We'd miss it. You'd probably have to get one of the young kids to take it. Lukaku would stutter run himself into mis-hitting it, Baines would look like a nervous school kid and would probably vomit mid run up. Just get Davies to smash it.

I do agree. Mirallas should be starring, he has the experience, the quality, the snide and the character. I said it a few weeks ago, in the first 4-0 not the second 4-0 but the first 4-0 he was excellent.

The kids will hold no fear, just nerves which will go soon enough, this is the start of the future for the kids that are starting/playing/subs

Joyce tweeted that so think it's pretty much nailed on - interesting if we are going with a back 3 or 4 though,
I know we have to,buct I hate major changes in the backline especially as Holgate and in particular Pennington have been out of the picture somewhat, aaah well sink or swim I suppose,Come on you Blues!!

Young lads haven't let us down all season mate when asked to step up, absolutely massive vote of confidence for them today from Koeman rather than going for the easier option of playing players like Lennon, Barry, Mirallas etc
