Inclined to agree with that. Very poorly designed. We’ve all been there. The absolute pits for me though was Abu Dhabi, it’s a complete dive of an airport.
Tokyo Haneda
Not closer than Maho Beach in good ol Saint MaartenRemember being on holiday in lanzarote and watching the planes landing … sounds boring but if anyones been there you’ll know how close it is to the beachfront. You could basically sit on the beach and watch them fly really low overhead just outside the airport perimeter.

Sint Maarten is insane
Some interesting ones when it's windy:
Birmingham
Leeds Bradford
The strongest winds in the UK tend to be south westerly, and those runways are aligned NW-SE, so not in an optimal direction. Crosswind landings galore.
Madeira Funchal
Tenerife South
When the trade winds get going in the tropics, they're not as strong as the winds we can get in the UK, but the mountainous nature of these islands causes the wind to do some odd things, making approaches very challenging to stabilise.
Pilots work hard when it's blowing a howly. Give them some love.

Why do people watch planes all day? Is it in the hope that they get to watch one crash? I don't get it.
