Local media

The local media weren't willing to even question the wisdom of appointing Benitez and instead went down the route of berating any Evertonian who questioned it as childish and overly tribal.

They aren't gonna start now. They're eager to show the incoming owners that they're fully domesticated. They'll save their barbs for the current ownership and football staff for a time in the future when the new ownership need a bit of deflection.

He was compromised years ago. He inadvertently told us all anyway, whenever he waxed lyrical over going to Pre Season tours and spending time with the likes of Walter Smith and players.

Now why would a “journalist “ tell it how it is if he has developed friendships with managers and players, his viewpoint is compromised at the risk of access of that nature being cut off.

We will know if things have truly changed here if the new owners ever come under any proper scrutiny and objectivity.

I don’t get the Joe Thomas praise either, that fella from what I read and heard never once would mention the former chairman by name or under any accountability, which is no different to what came before him. He had been questioned about this many times on Twitter and never once responded to

Completely agree with every word. Have we been told to give our heads a wobble again this week?

I've seen the official site interview with Dyche, would not recommend if you want to have a nice day.

Is that Mr “give ya head a wobble”?

Some arrogance that considering he has a hair cut similar in style to a skunks arse
He got really upset that someone said they weren’t pushing hard enough against the club and Dyche.

Let’s be honest, if you work for the echo then you accept you work for a company that is obsessed with Liverpool and Everton are an afterthought. They are all just happy to be watching football for a living which is fair enough I guess but they are hardly doing a good job. They will be replaced by AI because their job is to copy/paste and not be too controversial.

This is why fan led social media content is so vital these days because they aren't scared to say what they think without fear of being castigated.

I am by no means a fan on of the ToffeeTv but he'll more or less put out there what Blues are thinking.

What the Echo journo's don't realise is their the readership would probably increase tenfold if Evertonians seen them fighting for the fans and asking the right questions, but it's been the same ever since Kenwright took Prentice under his wing so it's probably not going to change now.

Do you think there will be a point in these “journalists” lives where they’ll look back at being conned / bought by kenwright and realise that they caused the club they are supposed to support great damage by endorsing his time there?

From 11.25 onwards

Don’t forget these are the people that refused to put our former chairman under scrutiny even after all that has happened, you’ve got a cheek Chris mate

They are a bunch of “c u next Tuesday’s” trying to make out they criticise the club and dyche amd
Joe Thomas asks tough questions, Chris and Joe back end of last season were taking about a new contact and taking us into BMD. Beesely slagged the fans off last season after Chelsea for having a go at dyche. Go back 3/4yrs and I was listening to every episode and beesley wouldn’t even mention kenwrights name.

The echo know exactly what
They’ve caused, by letting kenwrighg get off Scott free.
The likes of prentice, O’keefe, Kirkbride etc should hang their heads in shame.

I know we’re so crap at the moment that we all feel like having a go at everyone, but I listen to most of the Echo podcasts and they all strike me as decent people and good Blues doing their best. Sure they make mistakes, who doesn’t? (I heard a fairly comprehensive apology for headlockgate, which I didn’t hear from most of the national media) But they’re not players, they’re not directors and imo don’t deserve the same level of stick for doing a job which requires them to be a bit more rounded in their assessments than those of us who only view the game through our fanaticism. Down with Dyche, up the blues, and onwards.

I listen to the same podcast, it’s generally easy listening, they try and stay positive and come across as ok but are so obviously in the pocket of the club sometimes they barely sound credible. As has been mentioned earlier they are still terrified to say kenwrights name.

The only one on that podcast with a set of balls is Tony Scott.
