Of course. My point is if he doesnt prove to be quality he'll be the first of any player in the current set up to get it in the neck. It's just the way fans work.

I didn't say it was sectarian. I said the passions involved are on that level. It cant be dismissed...and if he plays poorly just watch and see how right I am on this. He'll be castigated as a Kopite and hounded.

NO, I wont give a flying one. I'm merely stating that it means something to a hell of a lot of people...it might be on the back burner now but it'll come to the fore if/when he under-performs.

Come on, you know that I'm right. Tell me if he starts stinking the place out there wont be loads of fans muttering (at first) their insults about "that Kopite tattoo".

No, but you drew an equivalence with a sectarian tattoo on an old firm player.

"It'd be like Celtic signing a player with 'No Surrender ' etched on his body or Rangers signing a player with a 'God Bless the Pope' tattoo."

There is no equivalence.

The equivalence is not over religion (hence my stating clearly 'it would be like"...not "it is"). We have a passionate rivalry and that means that a player connecting with the values of Liverpool FC are an issue. Of course it is. It's absurd to think it wont if things are ropey for him here.

He picked a bad example. Woud have been better with an Athletico player with 'los blancos' on their leg.

Rangers v Celtic is a different kettle of fish. Only really Hibs vs Hearts is the other sectarian clash, and that's nowhere near as fierce.
 
Gosh I did not know he has that tattoo, all my enthusiasm has gone through the window. Is it too late to cancel the transfer? I mean the feelings of sensitive people either on this site or elsewhere are paramount. Get rid of him before he causes heart failure among some of our most dedicated fans. All our pluers should strip and have their tattoos examined so we can see who else should go Bolassie might have "I love the Kop on his bum"? .
