Yeh but he was a full-back. He didn't have the skill/pace to play as a winger really - he was so good because he could overlap or underlap and combine with Pienaar. Tierney is very similar in that sense.

Sessengnon can create chances out of nothing like a winger. He drifts inside and plays centrally and then darts out wide as well.

In terms of style of player, Tierney and Sessengnon aren't really similar at all I don't think.

I want a left back who plays primarily as a defender who can defend. I’m not arsed about “inverted wingers” or fullbacks who aren’t really fullbacks. I want us to finally buy a defender who can do his job (unlike Keane, Williams, Mori and Martina). This bloke fits the bill and for £16m he’s a steal.

Schneiderlin on that list is interesting. As surely we’d be looking for a midfielder if that was the case.

yep deffo agree on sessengon, can't see him finishing the season as a left back

Yeh in fairness Fulham saw that early doors and moved him forwards at the start of last season, if not earlier.

If he takes his chance next season, he's a shoe-in for the Euros in that England squad if Southgate sticks with that 3-5-2 system.
