Barcelona wouldn't need us to not pursue him, but there could have been a gentleman's agreement for us to drop out regards to Malcolm, just because it would give them slightly less hassle, and they could in turn decide not to resist us too strenuously regards to signing Digne (Who for all intents is surplus at Barca anyway)

Although Malcom is 100% of the time going to go to Barca, by us effectively dropping out, it meant that FC Pay-over-the-odds didn't raise the price to £60m! Bordeaux obviously would accept the highest bid

He's made it clear he won't push for a move away but he wants more minutes and if a reasonable offer comes in, he'd like the club to consider it. Not sure CL is a deal breaker

If they want 16million, give them 16million. He’s a quality player, and we really need a LB. Cant really see us being linked to other LBs of the same quality. Tierney might become that in the future, but we need a ready-made leftback yesterday. Best thing would be if we bought Digne in the summer window and got Tierney in Januray.
