Quality player. Caught way up the pitch for their first, but for me that wasn't necessarily all his fault. We were on the attack at the time and a poor ball through the middle and an ever poorer touch from Tosun lead to their quick counter.

I like him but when we lose the ball sloppily he will always be caught out of position. We need to keep possession better for players not to be caught out.
This exactly. Far easier said than done with this lot though.

They're won by scoring goals mate. Always have been and always will be.

We have been pony since Lukaku left.
Whilst I don't disagree that we need a better striker Dave, and goals do indeed win you games, I've personally seen enough strikers at Everton over the years toil badly through a lack of proper creativity from both the central midfield and out on the wings.

If we had a quality playmaker in the area of the pitch that Schneiderlin takes up then we'd look miles better going forward right off the bat. It genuinely infuriates me that we haven't had this kind of player at the club since Arteta in his pomp. For me that's absolutely the key to sparking our 'resurgence', if it were ever to actually happen.

Best player today even though he was at fault for the first goal but I suppose he was told to play that high up.

Seemed to give a lot of fouls away as well which in some cases was harshly done by the ref. But that’s hardly surprising considering Carragher who was commentating for Sky was in Atkinson’s ear during his warm up telling him not to be influenced by the crowd.

to be fair to the lad, everyone slagging off his positioning is forgetting that he's been asked to get forward and put the oppos on the back foot,
can't be helped if someone in front of him makes a mistake,
the same things happened to coleman in the games so far

It's a general lack of technique from players we should have got shut of or never should have bought. It's not going to be solved by buying a midfielder.
