Since they sold him rather than played him? I don't think it's particularly any slight on us and actually bodes well for any worries about the quality of Mina / Gomes when they do come to play

They sold him because he wanted more game time, which they couldnt give him(having the best LB in the world makes it hard) not because they thought him not good enough. I honestly think he could walk into any attacking team in the world and do his job well. The only LB i might switch him out for is a prime Baines atm. Our left flank is looking soo good right now.
~20million seems like a terrible deal for Barca, was his contract running out?

We are dangerously evrrtoning Lucas here, bigging him up to levels that he may well not be able to maintain.

You're right to an extent, but let's not lose sight of the fact the he is actually a proven high quality player. It's not like he's some kid we've picked up from Scunthorpe who's had a good start, he's a French international with quite a lot of Champions League experience, there's no reason to believe he's going to suddenly turn rubbish.
