He had some good link up play with Bernard, but wasted multiple opportunities for us with passes into the box. Played the ball to no-one after looking up.

He's also knocked off the ball far too easily. I hope he manages to find his form from last season, and soon.
 

I don´t think he´s as good as people would like to think he was last year but he´s also not this bad. The truth right now is that he´s probably somewhere in the middle. The potential is there for him to improve over the coming years. He has to really. This can´t be another case of an Everton player regressing.

Been 5 months of piss poor performances. Insane how he csn go from the level of last season to this season, barely getting 6/10 performances from him.

Should have been dropped games ago for Baines because his fitness, mentality and in game decisions aren't at the level required.

In the first half when he countlessly put in poor balls from inside their box, I just thought to myself that had that been Baines we would've been about 4 up!

I'm trying not to get to annoyed by the result but what a wasted opportunity.

Before we fell apart at the end he was one of the few who I didn't think had played well. I know he was injured before Christmas and I was trying to be accepting of that. A couple of his recent performances have been cowardly in facing up to an opponent though. I think it was you who mentioned before the game about being surprised Baines hadn't played more with so many fixtures in a short space of time. Possibly would've seen us out of sight by half time had that happened.

I'm sure Ancelotti is taking it all in. I just hope that he is given the funds in the summer to overall this squad of weak willed individuals as he sees fit.

Probably nobody else can take them.

I don't mind his free kicks usually to be honest. His one tonight was shocking but he usually gets near at least.

His corners though....

Our corners have done my head in for years. Just belt it into the box as hard as you can, I don't get why modern football overthinks the corner kick.

Yes mate he's gonna need an absolute wedge to sort this mess out.

Surely Digne can't be injured and still getting picked when Baines showed he was such an able deputy.

That's the worry about all this squad though, they barely have to play once a week and they don't look fit enough for that. They just look like a pampered gang of championship players with the backbone of a jellyfish
