It sounds mad, but I’ve thought for a while he doesn’t suit a wing back role. As a left back he can probably pick his times to attack, as a wing back you need to be up & down all game, he doesn’t seem capable or fast enough
He got a lot of ball tonight, but offered very little, constantly going back. Where’s the Digne that would go at the full back and try and get half a yard to whip a cross in.

Honestly, I was surprised we didn't go back to 4-3-3. It's not like we didn't have the mids on the bench to accommodate it and make subs. I'm guessing Carlo was concerned about getting attacked down the right if we went that direction.
An out-of-form winger in front of a full back or wing back never helps them look good.
