2020/21 Lucas Digne

Looks ready for Wednesday as far as I'm concerned!

Hopefully will be back a lot sooner than we thought though which would be a massive boost.

He’s a world class player so he has to come back into the team. Saying that though it’s a difficult conversation to have with Godfrey or Holgate because they’ve been two of our best players in the last three games. We do look a better team with Godfrey’ space and height in it. Maybe we’ll even see Digne further forward giving Richarlison a rest in some games.

Yeah Digne comes straight back in for me mate but the main thing would be just to have options where we know if we need to rest someone, the level doesn't drop dramatically. Godfrey has shown he's more than capable at left back though I'd like to see him at centre back at some point as well.

They're a selling club now

Slap down the cash and he'd come, especially if we finished top four

He'd be the perfect replacement and I'd bare Digne no ill will for moving on eithet, he's been a good player for us

Can't see it myself mate but then if we finished top 4 that would be a different kettle of fish. He's certainly one of their remaining few saleable assets thats for sure.

Only one thing worse than having big money clubs sniffing round your best players & that’s having a squad full of vastly overpaid dross on long contracts, who nobody wants & you can’t pay clubs to take them..

We’ve seen way to much of the latter for longer than I can remember.

Hope Digne wants to stay, but if not, rinse city for 60m & keep buying likes of Godfrey & Nkounkou.

Maybe not Wednesday, as United will in all likelyhood, come at us in the same manner as Chelsea and Leicester and the 4 centre half system worked well Vs them.
We're 3 from 3 using it, so like Coleman, no need to rush him right back in
Edit; no shortage of games coming up, bed him back in...maybe pushed up a bit further.

Godfrey is arguably our most inform defender so I’d move him to left sided centre back and have Digne at left back to give us more threat and balance. On current form I’d partner Godfrey with Keane and see how they get on.

For the last year my worry has been city coming in for him as they are a good match. He's linked today in the mail. Unfortunately I can see this happening.
He's been at big clubs when things haven't worked out for him. He's got himself back into the French squad with us.

Provided we keep evolving and get European football next season I believe both he and Richarlison will give us at least a couple more years and I believe he will sign a new contract sometime next year. See where we are then.

I guess I'm old school in that we've played 270+ minutes of football and conceded 1 goal - which was a penalty.

To my mind you don't mick about with the defensive unit, it sends a negative message to the team if you do IMO.
