But, why are Newcastle and Villa the only clubs prepared to pay money for him ?

I certainly thought there would be a better calibre of club chasing his signature.
It would seem that Evertonians rate him higher than others.

It's not hard.

Everton are crap, btw, under this manager we're relegation fodder and play like it. So even a mid-table team like Villa is a step up. They may only be 3 points ahead of us but Christ they play footy that's on a different planet, and they too have had tons of injury issues.

Spurs have 2 LBs
Man Utd have 2 LBs
City want a LB but not until the summer, they have Cancelo or Zinchenko or Ake to play there
Arsenal have 2 LBs
Liverpool (wouldn't happen anyway) have 2 LBs

No club abroad can afford a permanent deal. European football is still pretty skint, especially in January.

So you're looking at the West Hams, Villas, Leicesters etc.

And remember, Digne clearly isn't desperate to get away from Everton, he's desperate to get away from Benitez. And that's a massive shame.

People criticising him is pure defence mechanism because we’re selling one of our best players to a rival in Villa, under a megalomaniac dinosaur manager who is taking us nowhere but backwards.

I can understand the mental gymnastics to be fair, it’s a particularly disgusting time to be an Everton fan, and we’re used to crap times.

Do not get me wrong he is a good player but we have seen better from him, even under Carlo he hasn’t performed as well as he can. Is that age? Setups? Or attitude?
