Lucid dreams, astral projection and whatnot

I am a regular lucid dreamer. I would say that the majority of the dreams I am aware of are Lucid dreams, where I control some portion of them, maybe changing a certain aspect cause I'm not keen on it, or maybe just removing a person into the situation, or at times have a direct control over the entire direction of them, who is involved, specifics of actions and outcomes. There have been a few occasions where I have seen an outcome, rewound through the actions and chosen a different path. It was only when I was a bit older that I realised this wasn't everybody's experience.

My Mum says that my Nan was somebody that was quite connected, spiritually. She brings up an occasion when she was a child. She had a lodger staying at her house in Kirkdale, working at the docks. One Morning my Nan just screamed his name out in the street and started crying. It turned out that later that day he fell in between a ship and the dock wall, killing him. Also, a little closer to home, my Mother has lost all but one of her Brothers to illness, with all of them she has had visions of death becoming them a few months prior to any medical diagnosis.

I know it all sounds a little mental, more so when its written down, but that's the way it is.

It only sounds ‘mental’ because we live in spiritually degenerate times, dominated by the ego and materialism.

The true nature of the universe will be far, far deeper and more complex than the Human mind can contemplate, and I think it’s a mark of intelligence when people are able to accept that and be open minded to different possibilities.

I've done astral projection, mindblowing. Until a girl I know who was big into spiritualism told me while you're out of your body you don't know what entity goes in 😱 sort of freaked me out obviously, but still, one of the most exhilerating experiences I've had.
Then there's an ancient Greek meditation that's similar, they call incubation, carried out by pre philosophers like Empedocles and influenced the Stoics.
It needs isolation and is similar to the story of Cheeses and his 40 days and nights in the dessert.
Got close once, like a clarity of thought, but two kids and a woman in the same environment doesn't create the right silent mood 😊
Don't dis it, can only help

During a period while I was self-employed I used to sit in the drivers or passenger seat of my van around lunchtime to do some paperwork/notes and eat a little, invariably I experienced a phenomenon whereby I felt my soul/spirit rise above and had sensations of looking down at myself [at about ceiling height of the van or just overhead the roof] This occurred for over a decade and usually happened while I was on my own but less often while somebody else sat in the van or car. The peculiar thing is it never happened outside of these circumstances and that's what fascinates me more than the phenomenon itself

I was quite a poor swimmer until I mastered keeping my head out if the water at about 8 years, despite my dad's best efforts. Heavy bones he reckoned.

Anyway - I have a vivid memory of seeing some small kid sat at the bottom of the swimming baths, by the steps of the shallow end. Always wondered if that was an out of body experience for me.

Despite this I'm skeptical of the whole thing.
Don’t rule out that you actually drowned that day and the rest of your life is a joyous projection of what might have been.

Although, your DIY stuff is most likely Purgatory having WiFi.

When I was into my drug days. Massive amou t of hash, spread with Billy and E's I got introduced to this. LSD also had a big hand, however I was a terrible tripper.

After giving up the chemicals I've had a few dreams where I have woken up in them and walked around and tried to speak to people. Amazing stuff. I can't control when it happens, but some weird swizzle.

Under no circumstances is anyone to teach chico astral projection.

I reckon a certain attacking midfielder of ours has checked out spiritually and mentally, is currently relying on BIOS programming to plod through basic operations.

I wonder where in the universe he has projected off to.

It's not lucid dreaming, but I thought this was interesting.

Hall of Fame boxer Sugar Ray Robinson backed out of a fight because he had a dream that he was going to kill his opponent in the ring. After a priest and minister convinced Robinson to fight, Robinson went into the ring which resulted in the death of Jimmy Doyle.

Years later it would become known that Doyle had only one goal in life, buying his mother her own house. Robinson was made aware of this fact. He then donated the purses for his next 4 fights to the mother of Jimmy Doyle, finally allowing her son’s dream to come true

Damn thing is I went to primary school with her. Then she got pregnant (for the first of at least five times) aged 14, and now she's hanging out of a much older dude who inexplicably seems capable of keeping it up about 3x longer than I can it would seem...

Kopite behaviour. But on topic, when I do actually get some blastard sleep it's usually something that leaves me waking up feeling grateful.

Like last night, I dreamt my main client had been ruined due to a Russian hack and it was someone on the editorial staff who had allowed it to happen. My manager got some tech to discover whose firewall had been breached to allow this, and obviously it was mine.

Then I woke up to have my first meeting of 2025 with said manager. No escape. Nothing funny like Donald Duck heads turning into toilets or naked quidditch. Just work related.
I can sleep fairly easily for a full 8 hours but pretty much any dream I can remember is similar - things going wrong at work. Any kind of fun dream almost always takes a turn towards humiliation or failure.

My dream state is like Rimmer from Red Dwarf playing Better Than Life.
